Duke's nose

Wow, a 1000 feet drop straight into the valley. And it is very windy at the top, mind you !

The expressway winds its way down the Khandala ghat. The blue building is some company and it is very close to the Khalapur toll plaza and the foodmall. Photo captured at full 4X optical zoom (the maximum my digicam can manage) from the Duke's nose aka Nagphani.

Shivneri

The Shiv temple at Shivneri fort where Shivaji was born. For those who don't know, Shivneri Fort was also the place from where Yashwantrao Chavan announced the formation of the state of Maharashtra on 1st May, 1960 and took over as first Chief Minister.

Sudhagad

The last hurrah to Sudhagad (about 20 kms from Pali Ashtavinayak). The fort and its surroundings are lush green this time of the year. Plus a bit of adventure in braving the landslides and rocky patches. A "simple and thrilling" trek.
